Flora is a lamp concept that integrates the
doorbell into the interior as a sensual design object.
It functions independently as a lamp, but when
the doorbell rings, the flower-like form opens up, altering the light atmosphere and emitting a noticeable (yet more charming) sound than conventional doorbells.
Flora gives both a sound and a visual signal,
making it more comfortable for people with hearing impairments, households with sleeping children, or pets that are easily frightened.
It works with a string mechanism, controlled
by an Arduino, a servomotor, and a loudspeaker.
